This morning I want to talk to you about THE TUG OF THE SPIRIT! In the letter to the Galatians Paul tells the church…yes…the church…that there is this Tug of War…this battle…that takes place in our lives. The battle is whether we are going to be led by the Spirit or are we going to do what the sinful nature…the flesh wants. You need to understand that this battle has been going on since the Garden of Eden. It is the same battle that Adam and Eve had…and they lost!

This morning I want to talk to you about GOING DEEPER IN THE SPIRIT! Specifically, I want to talk to you about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Next week I will talk more about the person and the work of the Holy Spirit. By that I mean what HE does…and how HE works on us, in us…and through us. This morning…I want to answer 5 questions that many people ask about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit…(1) Why Do I need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit? …(2) What difference does HE make in my life? …(3) How do I receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit…(4) Is the baptism the Holy Spirit for me? …(5) How do I know if I have been baptized in the Holy Spirit?

Did you know that many people struggle with trust? They have trust issues. That is why this morning I want to talk to you about GOING DEEPER IN TRUST! Did you know that if you have a hard time trusting people…you will most likely have hard time trusting God? Why is that? Because we have been conditioned by painful experiences to believe that no one is trustworthy.

This morning I want to talk to you about GOING DEEPER IN VICTORY! It is my observation that many people do not know how live the victorious life. They do not know how to get the victory over sin or their circumstances…and some don’t know how LIVE IN victory! I have learned that it is one thing to get the victory, it is another thing to keep the victory!

How do we GO DEEPER? Where do we begin? We begin by growing in knowledge of God’s word! Someone may be asking, “Why is it important that we grow in knowledge?” That is a great question! I am giving you three important reasons why we need to GO DEEPER in the knowledge of God’s word! (1) So we can UNDERSTAND GOD’S NATURE, (2) So we can FIND ANSWERS TO OUR QUESTIONS, (3) so we can OVERCOME LIFE’S TRIALS!
