This morning, I want to give you some tips on how to share your faith...how to be a witness for Christ. Many people want to share their faith in Christ and most do in some way. However, many people do not feel confident so they do not do it as often as they would like to. We need to remember that the church is built...becomes healthier as it grows. The church will grow when its people...not just its pastor becomes a living witness.

Today, I want to talk to you about being great! Am I talking about being great at making money? Perhaps you might think that being great means being important, having power and prestige, like being a president or being a king? Are you great? Can you be great? What does it take to be great? Can anyone be great? Did you know that there are somethings that God wants us to be great at? We should be great at serving, forgiving, and caring…just to name a few! We should be great...at the Great Commission...and the Great Commandment! This morning let’s focus on the Great Commission and the Great Commandment!

Today, I want to talk to you about hope! Followers of Jesus are the most hopeful people in the world…at least we should be! Why are we hopeful? Because we know that this life…is NOT all there is! We have an eternal hope! Hebrews 6:19 tells us that our hope is anchored in Jesus…and that the hope we have…is the anchor of our soul. This hope that we have…comes with a responsibility doesn’t it? What is our responsibility? Simple, share our hope in Christ with others! Our hope…affects how we live this life! It keeps us from being overwhelmed with the problems and pitfalls of life! I want to share with you 3 different types of hope…that we have! We have 3 types of hope to share with our neighbors, coworkers, friends and family…and anyone who is lost, who doesn’t know Christ. We have hope” (1) for a better future, (2) to escape the tribulation, and (3) the hope of heaven!

Today, I want to talk to you about COMPASSION FOR THE LOST! When I say compassion for the lost, I mean your compassion and my compassion! You see…all throughout the bible we read about the justice of God. How HE punishes wickedness. He punishes people who do wicked things! Now, I realize that is not a popular message today, but we are not in a popularity contest! We are NOT called to be popular…we ARE CALLED to be obedient, compassionate and faithful our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Preparation to Launch is our series title. In January, we talked about believing God for big things…personally…and as a church! Just like when the United States sent men to the moon. In the 1960s the U.S. had a big desire…to be the first people…the first nation…to send a man to the moon! It was President John F. Kennedy who planted that desire into the heart of the nation! He wanted to show the rest of the world…that we could do it! In part…he wanted to show the rest of the world…we were better than they were! We as a nation…as well as the scientist and the astronauts…had to believe big…they had to believe that they could do something that had never been done before! But guess what…they had to do more than believe…they had to make their belief…their mission…their purpose…their focus!

This morning I want to talk to you about the Parable of the Lost Sheep. This parable is powerful and inspiring in 4 ways. (1) it powerful and inspiring because Jesus is the Good Shepherd and HE is looking for those who do not know HIM! (2) because the Good Shepherd is looking for those who wandered away from HIM…those who have backslidden (3) it is powerful and inspiring...because as a church…we know that we were lost…and HE came looking for us! (4) it is powerful and inspiring...because we know that it is our responsibility to find the lost sheep…wherever they may be!
