Are you a safe risker…or a safe risk taker? I really don’t know that there is such a thing…but this is what I am talking about. I am talking about a person who sees risk…maybe even talks about taking risks…but never or seldom does anything risky? You never make bold statements for the Lord! Are you one of those people who are afraid to take a risk…even for the Lord?
This morning…I want to once again challenge you to take a risk! It is my hope and prayer that God will grip your heart and move you from safety to risk taker…for your good and HIS glory!

Do you know that living a Christian life is filled with risk? Have you realized…that God will ask you…to risk your comfort to serve HIM? Do you know that following Christ is an adventure? Why? Because God will ask you to take risks! Now…one more question…did you know that every encounter you have with Christ is loaded with potential risk? Why is that? Because you never know what will happen! Every time you encounter Christ, every time you attend church, every time you pray, every time you read the Bible, every time you gather with other believers…you are putting yourself at risk! For those of us who have been following Jesus for a while…we not only acknowledge the risk…we welcome it…we invite it…and we look for it! Walking with Christ is filled with potential risks!

If so, you need to take a risk! Is your life comfortable, easy, and predictable…just the way you like it? If so, God may be urging you to take a risk! Not a hair brained risk, but a risk that is bathed in prayer! A risk that inspires you and scares you! A risk that will make an impact IN God’s Kingdom!
